Bioinformatics roadshow at CIBIO (Porto, Portugal)
Registration has just opened for our bioinformatics roadshow at Research Center in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources- University of Porto (CIBIO-UP), located in Vairão (Northern Porto), Portugal on the 23-25th February of 2011. Places are limited, so please register now to avoid disappointment. The roadshow combines presentations and hands-on practical sessions. Trainees are guided through the selected databases and tools by expert trainers from the European Bioninformatics Institute, the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB), the European Patent Office and the BRENDA project. The roadshow is funded by the European Commission as part of the SLING Integrating Action (https://www.ebi.ac.uk/training/roadshow/sling_new.html). The purpose of the roadshow is to train experimental biologists how to make the most of some of Europe’s most widely used public biological databases, such as Ensembl, UniProt, InterPro and BioMart. Travel funds will be avilable for a limited number of trainees from institutes that are unable to host their own roadshow, to travel to the roadshow in CIBIO, Vairão.
